Ardhanarishvara is an androgynous deity composed of Shiva and his consort Shakti, representing the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies. According to many scriptures, everything in this Universe originates from Ardhanarishvara and goes back into Ardhanarishvara after completion of its lifetime.Ardhanarishvara is depicted as half-male and half-female, equally split down the middle. The right half is usually the male Shiva, illustrating his traditional attributes. The aanchal also has Kalash, Lotus and women offering garlands and prayers to them
On the border of the saree we have represented Mithila women offering flowers and prayers to Shiva and Parwati. The aanchal also has signature madhubani borders and flora to make the saree holistically attractive and appealing.
