Sindoor Khela - A Celebration of Farewell and Devotion
Introducing "Sindoor Khela," a captivating piece from our Devi Ritu collection. Crafted from soft, breathable Kerala cotton, this saree beautifully narrates the story of the traditional Sindoor Khela ritual, celebrated on the tenth day of Durga Pooja.
The aanchal of the saree is adorned with a vivid hand-painted depiction of Maa Durga, as she blesses her devotees before her departure. The saree comes alive with scenes of a young girl performing the traditional Dhoonu Chi Nach, an aarti offered to the goddess, and married women engaged in the heartfelt Boron ritual, bidding farewell to Maa Durga. The air is filled with the rhythmic beats of the dhak, depicted along the borders, where dhakis (drummers) play with fervor, and the boota patterns of banana leaves add a touch of nature’s elegance.
"Sindoor Khela" is more than just a saree; it's a canvas that captures the essence of Durga Pooja, the emotions of devotion, joy, and the bittersweet farewell of the goddess. Drape yourself in the spirit of the festival with this intricately detailed saree, perfect for commemorating the beauty of tradition.
